Candidate: GEM (Civil Engineer) SNAP: 99.13 (50% weightage of SNAP Score, 50% WATGEPI)

Interview Process date 8th Feb 2020 Lavale Campus
Great campus on the hilltop is a must-see.

The process consisted of WAT followed by Group Exercise (GE) and PI.

Process Summary:

WAT (2 Panelists, Male): 12mins, 5 GK questions, 1 WAT topic (100 Words) “Insolvency in the airline industry: Jet Airways a lesson!”

GE (Same 2 Panelists as above): The same group of 8, 2 different pictures was shown to each of the 8 students and everyone was given 2 mins to think of one of the images and describe their choice for 45 secs. This was followed by a discussion where everyone had to build a story from their images in the next 8 mins and the last 3 minutes to conclude the discussion. (This process can differ each year, so be on toes for any challenging exercise)

PI (2 Panelists both Alums): My PI was long probably because I was the first of my group. First, I was given a paper slip and a topic “You are an owner of a 10 billion $ company which has all the employees as freelancers”. Once I entered the room I had to speak on that topic for some time. Further, the PI lasted for 40-45mins with discussions about everything, why MBA? Work ex? Challenges? Elon Musk? Sustainability? Philosophy of life? Situational questions? Domain (finance) questions? Greta Thunberg? It was a great health discussion. Enjoyable experience. (Document verification happens simultaneously with the interview in opposite order i.e. the last to the interview is first to the  doc verification)

Tips: Prep for the extempore in advance you can easily get stuck there if the topic is unknown. Be well versed with the current affairs and have a clear opinion on the subjects.

All in all a good process with healthy discussions and the student body that conducts these interviews is very efficient.

Within all this aimless buzz there is still a sense of void, the phone or TV that were previously the only source of solace to escape the chatter of office politics or social conversations seems redundant and unsatisfying. Hence, I have tried to list a few things down to help you structure...
